Between 1953-54 the Dutch margarine-brand Blue-Band (Unilever) issued premium sports-cards with their products. These free cards caused a collecting-rage amongst young and somewhat older comsumers in those days. The cards, depicting all sports and sport-like games, could be collected in amusing little albums. Very fifties.

Offered is one of the original beautifully hand colored gelatin silver photographs from which the cards were printed. Image (21x15.5cm) shows a scene from a testmatch between Australia and GB. Date and place unknown, likely UK c.1950s (Vol.4/GP2). Very delicate and precise retouche making a one-of-a-kind rarity! Printing instructions on verso. Comes with the album (Vol.4; complete).
